Take some of the hot liquid and put it in the kind of plastic sitz bath that fits over the toilet or put a chux underpad on the bed and apply hot, soaking compresses to the afflicted area. Swap out for another when cool. Either way, do this for about a half hour twice a day. If the perineum is really sore and swollen, follow with an ice pack. |
